Games flats open For public
An approval was given to the public sector undertakings for the sale of commonwealth games village flats by the governing body of delhi development authority (DDA) on Thursday by amending its housing regulations.
This proposal is expected to pass after it goes to the urban development ministry for the final decision. It is necessary relaxation as the flats can only be auctioned to the individuals by the authority under the present policy. Besides the MP’s and MLA’s, after the proposal gets cleared by the ministry, the flats can be allotted delhi police and PSU’s by the land agency.
A discussion which came up during the meeting by the governing body was the amnesty scheme that would be a relief to people living in urban villages etc. the political members of the body supported this scheme. It was when the farmhouse policy was being discussed then this came up for a discussion. This policy aimed at regularizing the farmhouses in delhi’s green belt built before 2nd February, 2007.
The non official members argued and protested against the scheme as the demanded that the policy should be isolated and the amnesty scheme should be brought in by DDA and the structures of the society’s various segments should be regularized.
The allottees who fail to pay their installments and are allotted flats at a higher purchase , a special penalty relief was approved for them. According to this scheme a relief of 25% will be provided on the interest rates paid by 50000 allottees. An official said that currently 18% simple interest is charged on past payments by DDA and 25% relief will be provided in it so as to reduce the interest to 13.5%. He even added the allottees who clear their all due installments till the date of application and even pay all their penalties and ground rent etc. will get this scheme. Scheme’s validity is till 30th november.
To facilitate biodiversity in city or district parks, the matter undertaken by the authority included the modification of rules of development for biodiversity parks as it wasn’t allowed till now.
